State Basketball Tournament Information

We are approaching our last practices for this basketball season. So far, it has been a great practice season.  We had a wonderful number of athletes and coaches this year.  Thank you to everyone for such a great season!!

The Bus is leaving for Minot on Friday 3/7/14 at 5:30 a.m. SHARP.

Please be at the State office parking lot no later than 5:15 a.m.  Please wear warm clothes over your competition shorts for the bus ride.  Wear warm shoes/boot and bring your tennis shoes with you on the bus.  We hope to get off the bus in Minot and be ready to play but you need to dress warm for the bus ride.  Remember that each player should have one or two pairs of BLACK shorts or sweat pants for competition.  You will be provided with a uniform top from your coach to wear during tournament games.  If you choose to wear a shirt under your jersey, we recommend a black or white t-shirt.  Jewelry will not be allowed to be worn during competition.   Please do not wear jewelry on the bus ride unless you bring a safe place to store it immediately once we get off the bus.

Please label your coats and suitcases with your name, so that identification of these items will be easier for loading and unloading, both in Minot and when we get back to Grand Forks. Please pack warm clothes as the weather may change.

If you have medications that you need help with during the trip, they must be packaged in individual bags and identified with your name, the name of the medication and the time and date it is to be given.  Our volunteers will not give suppositories, rectal creams, or similar preparations.  Please bring your own supply of gloves if other lotions are to be applied.

While in Minot, we will be staying at the Vegas hotel (701-839-3000).   Please call Meredith if you have any questions before we leave.  She can be reached at 772-8626 after 5 p.m. daily or by e-mail at area5sond@hotmail.com.

The bus plans to return to Grand Forks around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 3/8/14. We will give your ride a call along the drive so that you can be picked up promptly after we arrive in Grand Forks.
